Riding Centre Assistant Award

This award is for anyone 11yrs+ who wishes to learn & demonstrate all of the practical skills required to work on the yard safely. As you learn you will gain the confidence & competence to assist staff to ensure clients have a good experience at the centre.

The award is assessed through a series of questions & practical tasks & throughout the booklet there are sections for you or your coach to complete. On completion of all sections you will be awarded a certificate & a badge.

• Horse handling
• Leading horses
• Grooming in preparation for ridden work
• Tacking up & untacking
• Client experience
• Assisting riders
• Assisting riders in a lesson
